A favorite destination for the whole year, since it combines beautiful landscapes with quite good prices, Budapest is even more beautiful at Christmas. The main point of Christmas Budapest is the square Vörösmarty in the heart of the city at the end of Váci utca.A Christmas market is set up there, with 122 stalls with handmade products and food. The market is open daily from morning to afternoon, until New Year's Day.
DAY 1: ATHENS-VOUDAPASTI-CITY TOUR – CHRISTMAS MARKETS
Gathering at E. Venizelos airport and flight to the beautiful city of Budapest. Arrival at the capital of Magyar and we start our tour from Pest, with the large square of heroes, and the impressive statue of archangel Gabriel an impressive construction, where "host" the statues of the kings of the country. Then you will visit the Cathedral of Ag. Stephen, the largest church in Hungary. You will be impressed by the interior decoration as well as the chapel of the church, where there is a preserved right hand of the Saint. Then you will head along the Danube where you will admire the beautiful bridges and reach the Buda side. You will admire the Castle, the Fishermen's Tower and the Historic Church of Ag. Matia, which dominates the northern part of the castle district. Next stop is Gellert Hill and the Acropolis ‹‹Citadella›› with the Statue of Liberty and the breathtaking view of Buddha & Pest. Transfer and arrangement at our hotel. In the afternoon accompanied by our guide, we will visit the beautiful Christmas markets of the city to feel the Christmas atmosphere. Do not forget to try grilled sausages, stuffed cabbage, strudell, lagos and as well as Christmas cookies. For the evening we recommend a cruise to the Danube.
DAY 2: VOUDAPESTI-FREE DAY
Breakfast and free time which you can take advantage of by visiting the beautiful closed market. Here you will have the opportunity to buy the famous Hungarian salami, the local drinks Unikoum and Palinka, as well as their famous wines. Also the museums of the city, such as the National Museum and the Museum of Art History. Do not forget to try the sweets that adorn the windows of the traditional patisseries Gerbeud and Central. For Christmas Eve we will have a proposal for a Traditional Dinner with gypsy violins and dances.
DAY 3: VOUDAPESTI – PARADUNAVIA VILLAGES
Breakfast. Departure for the beautiful route at the Danube Junction. The first stop is the village of the artists, Ag. Andreas, with its picturesque alleys and beautiful tourist shops, the area is famous for its good wines. We continue to Vissegrad, the historical attraction of the majestic Danube Turning Point. From its once brilliant and famous royal palace in Europe, only a few ruins survive, the Renaissance style official reception courtyard was restored according to the old plans. A walk follows in Hungary's first capital, Esthergom. We will cross the bridge that connects the two banks of the Danube, Hungary with Slovakia to cross to the town of Stourovo in Slovakia from where we will enjoy the spectacle offered by the Danube and we will be impressed by Saint Stefano lit up on the opposite hill of Hungary. Return in the afternoon to Budapest.
DAY 4: VOUDAPESTI – EXCURSION TO THE CITY OF EGER
Breakfast at our hotel. Today we will have a special experience, visiting the beautiful city of Egger in the east of Hungary. We will board the train and after an exciting route we will reach the beautiful city. We will tour watching its Historical Center with the famous Fortress dominating the hill with the Episcopal Cathedral from the 10th century. The well-preserved baroque buildings, the Royal sample of neoclassical architecture as well as the famous baths. For lovers of good wine, the city is famous as an ideal wine-oil destination.
DAY 5: VOUDAPESTI – FLIGHT TO ATHENS
After breakfast, we will depart for Budapest airport, with the best memories of this wonderful city.
